Please read our booking procedures at the bottom of this page.
Recent Outings
Over the last 2 years many of our members have taken part in our Family Outings. Over 50 people joined us on a 3-day outing to Paris over the August Bank Holiday, while another 40 came with us to Longleat Safari park in October.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park (May 2009)
Drusilla’s Theme Park (February 2009)
There’s loads to see and do at Drusilla’s, where getting nose to nose with nature is all part of the most memorable fun family day out you can imagine! It has been voted the number 1 attraction in Sussex for days out with the kids by Southern FM listeners and Argus readers, and it is now listed 12th in the Sunday Times 50 Best Days Out in Britain.
Longleat (October 2008)
The outing to Longleat was a success with most participants, although it was such a cold day that it was difficult to completely enjoy it. However there were many memorable moments for all our members (young and old) such as the inquisitive monkeys clambering over our coach as we drove through their enclosure and the opportunity to see big cats, not in cages but roaming freely.
All in all, it was felt that this is a trip worth repeating during the warmer summer months.
Here are some of the comments we have had from children and parents:
Comment: “Seeing the animals was the most enjoyable thing.”
Our response: We feel the same!
Comment: “The coach was clean, secure and had good space for wheel chairs.”
Our response: We are happy to hear you feel this way, as we have tried to take on board comments made about our coaches on previous outings.
Paris (August 2008)
The Paris outing met with a variety of reactions, some positive, some not. However, as it included a full day outing to Disney Land, it was a success with the younger members of the group.
Here are some of the comments we have had from children and parents:
Comment: “Visiting Disney Land and going on the rides was most enjoyable.”
Our response: We totally agree.
Comment: “The coach trip was long and boring.”
Our response: When we go to places that are far away, the journey times will be quite long. However, on future long trips, we will aim to ensure that our coach has entertainment facilities on board.
Seaside trip to Eastbourne (May 2008)
The May half-term saw us down to the South coast for some sun, sea and sand. The weather had other ideas, and the blustery conditions made getting a suntan difficult, but everyone made the best of it and enjoyed themselves anyway!
Some comments from children
“I liked it!” - Kwabena Appiah-Peprah, 11
“I enjoyed the different places we went to, but I wanted it to be sunny so I could go to the seaside. I would give the overall experience 9/10!” - Sophie Douglas, 10
Gulliver's Theme Park (April 2008)
We had a lovely trip to Gulliver's Land theme park in the Easter Holidays. The park was very much geared towards children and families, and it was a big success!
Most of the feedback we received from families said that they would like to go back there again, so watch this space!
Booking Procedure
You can confirm and pay for bookings in 2 ways:
By Post
- Postal bookings must be received before the deadline, but note that most trips are still first come first served, so you should book as soon as possible.
- Both the payment and the booking forms must be sent — if either is missing, we will not be able to accept the booking.
- As ever, you are advised not to send cash in the post — cheques and postal orders are safer ways to send money.
In The Office
- We will now only accept money in the office on specified days — your booking will not be accepted if you come to pay on a different day.
- We will aim to have at least one payment day a month, and we may have extra ones.
Please note that a booking is not confirmed until we receive both the payment and the booking forms for each booking.
As a result, we cannot confirm bookings over the phone — you are welcome to call to register your interest, but whoever submits their payment and booking forms first will be given priority.
