Information for Prospective Trustees
26th June 2006
This project provides Respite Services to children with disability from ages 0 - 19 yrs old, across the borough of Lambeth. The service targets male and female, families of all economic range and ethnic/cultural backgrounds.
The majority of our service users entail children or young people from Black African, Black Caribbean, Black Other, British, White and Black Caribbean and White and Black African amongst other ethnicities.
Through play leaders we are providing a link service to families with children with disabilities in Lambeth. This provision has proved very popular, but this service is not funded by our service contract and has cost Lambeth Family Link, extensively in the last financial year 2004/5.
It's not always easy to find the right people for the job. But The Children's Society is expanding its work and we are looking to strengthen our Trustee Board. We need to find highly committed and motivated people from diverse religious, ethnic and cultural backgrounds to help increase the impact of our work with disadvantaged children in England.
We would be particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have experience in any of the following areas - senior-level management of children's services, government public policy and other social policies; diversity, fundraising and campaigning.
We aim to provide every chance to every child. If you would like to help us, give us a call.
The Meeting are based at the above address and meet every six weeks, between 7 to 9 pm.
